Translation procedures
Fidelia Linguistic Solutions is composed by an internal team of the most highly qualified industry professionals. These professionals strictly follow a series of procedures that fulfil our customers' quality expectations.
The translation and localisation procedures we follow to offer the highest quality language solutions are detailed below:
1. Acceptance of the quote or agreement by the customer.
2. Assignment of the job to a project manager or managers with more than five years' experience in the industry, who will analyse the documents to be translated and the speciality in the format sent by the customer, determining the volume of work using sophisticated word count systems and verifying, converting and standardising the format of the files to be translated. This will allow us to determine turnaround times.
3. Use of computer-assisted translation software (CAT) to create specific memories and determine the appropriate glossaries and terminology.
4. Selection of the specialist native translator or translators with proven experience in the field or discipline in question who will perform the translation service. In the event that more than one translator works on the same job order, style guides and agreed-upon terminology will be established in order to ensure the maximum consistency and coherence of the translated texts.
5. Translation process using the appropriate software and resources.
6. Review by the translation team who will initially review their work.
7. Review by native revisers with more than five years' experience in the specific sector. This review will include checking the grammar, syntax, semantics and style of the translated texts.
8. Final review by the project manager to check the linguistic, cultural and format-related aspects of the translation.
9. Layout and DTP tasks, in which our technical team will give the translated files the correct digital format.
10. Proofreading phase, in which the revisers check for possible errors in the texts and give the final touches and format the translations.
11. Delivery to the customer.
